What is the difference between unmounted and mounted stamps?

Unmounted stamps: Our high-quality deeply etched unmounted rubber stamps do not come with cushion or with a wooden mount. There are many ways to mount unmounted rubber dies for use. Some stampers use an acrylic block mounting system like EZ Mount Systemâ„¢ - others wood mount their stamps themselves, or use another mounting system.


Mounted stamps: Our mounted stamps are mounted on good white maple hardwood and indexed with a glossy finish black soy-based ink. The sides of the wood mount have an hourglass shape to better fit your hand. The rubber side of the stamp is deeply etched and closely trimmed, to give you the best stamped impression possible.

Are your stamps deeply etched?

Yes, our deeply etched, red rubber stamps are made from 11 pt (.153) engravings. You can see how deeply etched our stamps are if you look at the height of the raised rubber image compared to the background rubber below. However, if you are looking for rubber stamps to make a good impression in clay, you need to consider other factors as well.

If you look at the rubber sheet above, you will notice that even though they are all on the same deeply etched sheet of rubber, some images are wide open and others are much more dense. Image 1 is a very detailed racoon. The image has very little white space and so the rubber has very few open spaces. Since the lines in the artwork are very close together, the spaces in between the raised rubber will not be at full depth. This stamp could end up making a fuzzy impression in clay. Image 2 is a silhouette. It is completely filled and has no detail at all. Keep this in mind if you plan to use a solid image to press into clay. Image 3 is an outline of a cat napping. It has a strong outline and lots of interior space. This would make an excellent impression in clay. Image 4 has a combination of elements - some of the surface is very solidly raised and some is etched very deeply.

Do your stamps come with an ink pad?

No, ink pads are sold separately and should be chosen with your specific project in mind. Different inks stamp differently on different surfaces. Most dye-based ink pads work well on paper - and show detail well. Non-porous surfaces generally require an ink made specifically for those surfaces and may require heat setting.

Can I order over the phone, or by email?

Our online shopping cart employs Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption and is completely secure; however, if you would prefer to give your credit card information over the phone, we are happy to oblige you.

However, it is important to use the online shopping cart to process your order first, whenever possible.

Simply use the shopping cart as usual (add items to cart, then go to checkout), but choose "Credit Card Over Phone" under Payment Information during the checkout process. You will not need to fill out your credit card number online. You can mention that you will be phoning us in the "order comments" box during checkout.

Once you submit your order using our secure shopping cart, you will have an order # (at the top of the confirmation page) that we can use to match your phoned in information with the items you placed in your shopping cart online. This will save time on the phone and ensure that your order is filled accurately and shipped promptly. Our phone # is (419) 823-7677. Your order will not be completed until we get your phone call. It is generally not considered safe to email secure information without encryption - so we prefer not to process retail orders through email.

Are you an angel company? or, Can I sell items I make with your rubber stamps?

We are an angel company. This means that our customers can sell craft items created with our rubber stamps, as long as each craft item is hand stamped and our images are not mechanically reproduced. All of our images are copyright protected.

Do you make custom stamps?

Unfortunately, the process we use to make our rubber stamps does not lend itself to making economical custom stamps in small quantities. However, if you are looking for a large quantity of the same custom stamp for a special event or to resell in your store, please let us know. Our minimum order is 25 of each design. Do you have a paper catalog?

We do not have a paper catalog at this time - but every one of our images is shown in our online catalog, which is free and kept up-to-date!

What is in a "grab bag"?

A grab bag is a discounted mix of stamps (usually unmounted) chosen by our staff for one low price. We try to get a variety of sizes in each "grab bag" to offer you the best possible value for your money. Grab bags are good buys for people who like to collect stamps along a particular theme without spending a lot of money and they help us to clear out overstocked inventory to make room for new stamp designs.

Do you sell wholesale?

Yes, if you own and operate a rubber stamp or craft store, please email us and ask for our wholesale terms. We will email you back the information you will need to open a wholesale account. We do not sell wholesale to individuals or to stamping clubs or organizations.

How can I request a donation for my pro-animal charitable organization?

If you would like to submit a request for a rubber stamp donation to your pro-animal charitable organization, please fill out and return our Charitable Donations Application - here. Try to give us at least 4 weeks lead time to consider your request.

What payment methods do you accept?

If you use our secure shopping cart and checkout, you will be offered a choice of payment method, including:

What will I be charged for shipping?

Shipping rates vary based on the total cost of your order and your location. As you add items to your shopping cart, the shipping rate will be shown on the next screen you see. You can remove items from your shopping cart at any time prior to checkout and the shipping rate will adjust accordingly.

When will my order ship?

We generally ship next business day following receipt of your order. Small domestic orders ship by USPS mail with delivery confirmation. Priority shipping is an option at checkout. All orders are packed carefully to prevent shifting of your order in transit. All packages shipped outside the United States are shipping by United States Postal Service by first class international or Priority mail international. Please ask if you require Global Express mail - there is an extra charge. Customs, duties, and other taxes are always the buyer's responsibility.
